 Artigo Científico

This note documents the first record of a Bryde’s whale (Balaenoptera edeni) in the South Coast Marine Environmental Protected Area (SCMEPA) São Paulo State, Brazil. This observation was made during the monitoring activity of the protected area, on December 7, 2016, when two specimens were sighted near the Cardoso Island, south coast of the São Paulo State. Bryde’s whale observations are still very limited on the Brazilian coast, so this record represents important source for subsidizing policies of environmental planning for the SCMEPA.
